This series builds upon the stylistic pattern from a previous collection: “Midnight Mystique”. The reflection of the moon on shape-shifting clouds casts a warm tone on the edges, which is later turned purple. The first half presents the finished product while the latter half exposes the construction behind the scenes.
I built this series around New York City. New to the city, I am constantly finding avenues to connect with the city. This series is an attempt to connect my previous experiences in astrophotography with the city, as shown in the latter half of the series.
Although this series cannot be strictly classified as street photography, it makes the effort to extract the extraordinary and the mystical from the ordinary in the city streets. As the construction behind the scene is revealed, the mystical is demystified.
