The liminal demarcates the transient state between two binaries. The liminal is a threshold but it also represents the momentum to cross such a threshold. It encapsulates the movement of something becoming, the transition between the conscious and the unconscious, and the space between the present and the future, the known and the unknown.
It is at this brink of the unknown this series came about. The images are a product of roaming the streets in the city past midnight. Situated in the liminal state of perception, the images carry the momentum of something on the streets becoming. Form collapses; the remaining contrast, flow, and texture hold the rest together.
